My friends ,Sonny and Mark live in the cutest little Apt in Ortigia, right on the Ionian sea in Sicily. BEAUTIFUL. We walked the streets, shopped at the local market, fresh local produce and Seafood . I couldn’t get over the huge mound of fresh tomato paste, sold by the oz. Note to self, learn how to make fresh tomato paste. We Sat by the Sea and enjoyed Calamari , and a Campari spritzer. That’s where we ran into Salvatore , great smile who had just caught a hat that was blown in the wind. Sonny and Mark knew him, a local restaurant owner. We spent the day walking their beautiful town ,met the locals new and old. Later that evening we went to Dinner at Oritiga Fish Bar ,owner and Chef Salvatore. A great Mediterranean vibe, family owned. You take a pic of this wood cube to get the menu. But I told Salvatore just make me something. He did not disappoint. I’m a foodie, so if you’re visiting Sicily and you happen near Siracusa. You must come to Oritiga Fish Bar on Nizza. Fabulouso
